Day Geckos are named for the fact that, unlike most gecko species, they are not nocturnal and are most active in daylight hours. They are a brightly colored group of lizards, with species showing vibrant shades of green, blue, red, and more.

Day Geckos are found mostly in islands in the Indian Ocean, though one species is found in Africa. Like other gecko species, their toe pads have special structures that let them walk on vertical and even upside down surfaces.
